The Secret Of Healing Hands - The Story Of Sydney Weltmer

A man named Sidney Weltmer opened a healing institute in Nevada, Missouri in 1897 and claimed he could cure the sick with nothing but his hands and his voice. Within a few years he was treating hundreds of patients a day and receiving 3,000 letters a day. The Postmaster General shut him down. He sued. His case climbed all the way to the Supreme Court and in 1902 the nine justices ruled 6 to 2 in his favor, and their decision explicitly recognized that the mind has real power to heal the body.
