The Ugly Truth About DEI, Hypocrisy, & Politics Inside ESPN | Sage Steele

Dave Rubin of "The Rubin Report" talks to Sage Steele about the backlash she faced after criticizing anti-Trump airport protests and political activism in sports; why she believes ESPN and the NBA became increasingly politicized; leaving ESPN after nearly 30 years and why she doesn't miss sports broadcasting; behind-the-scenes stories involving Steve Kerr, Doc Rivers, and outspoken coaches; her thoughts on Victor Wembanyama, Jalen Brunson, and the NBA; receiving lengthy anti-Trump messages from a legendary sports figure and the rise of Trump Derangement Syndrome; the importance of diversity of thought and open dialogue; how her faith, family, and perspective helped her overcome divorce, the ESPN lawsuit, and career turmoil; the lifelong lesson of choosing the "harder right instead of the easier wrong"; why standing up to ESPN and Disney over COVID vaccine mandates was the toughest but the right decision; the pitfalls of DEI, identity politics, and being judged for her race and conservative views; why people should reject labels, trust their convictions; and much more.
