What Caleb Flynn Told His Mistress He'd Do While Ashley Was Asleep

On September 2, 2025, Caleb Flynn and Alleigha Botner spent an evening trying to figure out whether Ashley Flynn still had photos of their messages. Caleb had a plan for finding out, and it depended on Ashley being asleep. Botner's replies were "be careful," "what would be your excuse," and "Perfect." Five months later Ashley was shot in her sleep.

The full three-part panel on Botner's testimony in the Caleb Flynn trial, with retired FBI agents Robin Dreeke and Jennifer Coffindaffer. Part one, his messages: "hire someone" and "I've never joked about it" in June; "please take her out" in July; "ways to kill her and not go to jail" and crying in his truck outside her job in August. Part two, hers: the July 10 message she says she didn't mean, the September 2 phone plan, and her August 22 answer, "I'm not asking that you take her life, obviously," then "time is ticking." Part three, the cross: what she Googled in the three days after the murder, her "I don't think he could ever be capable," and the list of what police never did with her: no search, no DNA, no prints, no charges, no deal.

Caleb Flynn is accused of killing his wife on February 16, 2026 in their Tipp City home and staging an intruder. He has pleaded not guilty. Every word in this episode came from the prosecution's own witness, on direct and on cross.
