He's Going to CANCEL THE MIDTERMS

Could Donald Trump cancel the 2026 midterm elections by declaring martial law?

A report attributed to The Atlantic claims outside advisers are urging Trump to take control of federal elections as Republicans face potentially devastating midterm losses. Prediction markets, congressional warnings, and a Thomas Massie poll all point toward a serious collapse in support among conservative voters.

Martial law alone does not appear to give a president the power to suspend an election. The cited legal analysis says the situation becomes more complicated if war, insurrection, a cyberattack, or another catastrophic emergency makes voting physically impossible. That possibility fuels a darker question: could a national emergency be used to disrupt the 2026 midterms while expanding the war with Iran?

The Republican response is making the political crisis worse. Scripted calls for party unity are colliding with anger over the Epstein files, economic conditions, foreign policy, support for Israel, and elected Republicans who continue backing Donald Trump and MAGA.

Why This Matters

An election does not have to be formally canceled for emergency powers, infrastructure failures, war, or political pressure to create chaos. The public should examine the legal limits, the allegations, and the political incentives before accepting or dismissing the possibility.
