Brooke hydroplaned while driving her 2005 Chevy Cobalt, crossed the centerline, hit another vehicle head-on and died on impact. Upon further investigation, Lance and his team discovered Brooke lost control of her car because her ignition had turned off due to a product liability involving the ignition’s low torque. This landmark discovery launched a nationwide recall of millions of cars and resulted in billions of dollars in penalties and settlements against General Motors.
