Trouble in the Eastern Mediterranean

The tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean have escalated over the summer with maritime tensions rising between Greece and Cyprus on the one hand and Turkey on the other, and complex entanglements in North Africa and the Middle East. What happened exactly, and are all the tensions around the region (with military conflict in Libya, Syria) linked? What are Turkey's foreign policy goals? How will NATO adapt to a changing configuration in the Eastern Med? In this episode of .think Atlantic, IRI’s Thibault Muzergues and his guest Arnaud Danjean are making sense of this complex situation. Leadership in a Time of COVID-19

Recently, the COVID-19 pandemic has been at the top of everyone’s minds. People are taking a closer look at their health – and their governments. Throughout the world, the pandemic has spread at different rates, and the way leaders are managing it differ vastly. The effects of this are seen in polling, leadership, and of course, media. The Road To Somewhere- A Conversation with David Goodhart, Part 2

The Road To Somewhere- A Conversation with David Goodhart, Part 2

In the past few years, societies throughout the Transatlantic space have been changing at a very fast rate. We've seen new socio-economic and cultural fault lines emerge and redefine our political debates. This often translates into uncertain and encroaching change, as well as the entrenchment of the political debate, with new populist phenomena emerging as a result. On this podcast, International Republican Institute’s Thibault Muzergues explores these momentous changes and their effect on European and Transatlantic politics with David Goodhart. David Goodhart is a British journalist, think-tanker and author. David is the head of the Demography, Immigration and Integration Unit at the London-based think-tank Policy Exchange. He is the author of the best-selling “The Road to Somewhere,” which explores how the "people from somewhere" and "people from anywhere” defined the Brexit debate in the United Kingdom – as well as beyond and across the Transatlantic space. Available in English, French and soon in German, his analysis has fed the reflection of pollsters and demographers across Europe and the Transatlantic space.
