More about Ben from Precisionpaddlesports.com:

“Ben is a native of Orange, Virginia where he grew up playing around in and paddling on local rivers. Over the past 15 years Ben has been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to work alongside numerous paddlesport instructors and coaches at various paddling schools, outfitters, and colleges throughout the U.S. and abroad including the National Outdoor Leadership School, Nantahala Outdoor Center, Jackson Hole Kayak School, Costa Rica Rios, DeRiemer Adventure Kayaking, Otter Bar Lodge Kayak School, New Zealand Kayak School, Wilderness Rescue International, Next Adventure Paddlesports Center, Alder Creek Kayak and Canoe, Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center, Canoe Kayak and Paddle Company, Zoar Outdoor and many others.

While Ben's background is river kayaking, he enjoys spending time in diverse environments on paddleboards, canoes, and sea kayaks. Ep. 799: Climbing Grand Teton - Revisited - Craig Dinkel

Originally aired June 30, 2016.Craig Dinkel's adventurous life began with a near-drowning at the very young age of just 2. But instead of this experience leaving him with a fear of water, Craig ultimately became an excellent swimmer competing for Cal State and qualifying for the Olympic trials. He’s an entrepreneur having grown a company from ground level into a half-billion dollar market only to be wiped out by the dot-com crash. Craig eventually found himself at the summit of 13,775 ft Grand Teton in Wyoming and ultimately caught the bug to attempt a thru-hike of the Continental Divide Trail and hopefully bag the triple crown thru-hiking the Continental Divide Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, and the Appalachian Trail. Craig is also the founder and owner of the supplements company BioTropic Labs.Support Adventure Sports Podcast monthly by going to Patreon.com/AdventureSportsPodcast or make a one-time donation to the show here. Do you want to take charge of your health and wellness and have better sleep, more energy, and a healthier immune system? Ep. 796: Thirteen Years Living at Sea and Counting - Revisited - Brian Trautman

Originally aired August 16, 2019Have you ever wanted to just quit your job, sell your house and head out on an adventure for a decade? Yeah, me too. Today we chat with someone who actually did that and is still doing it, Brian Trautman. After being unsatisfied with the “perfect job”, house, car, etc., he came across a book about sailing across the ocean and knew that was what he needed to do with his life. He sold everything he owned, bought a boat, and sailed to New Zealand from Seattle. That first experience started a trend that would extend for more than a decade and lead to countless adventures that have been chronicled on his YouTube channel: Sailing SV Delos, gaining over 100 million views in the process. To date, Brian has visited 6 continents, 40 countries, and crossed every ocean on his 53 foot Ketch. Enjoy!youtube.com/svdelosInstagram: @svdelosFacebook: @svdelosCheck out Power7.com for all your ski needs! Ep. 795: The Importance of Microadventures - Revisited - Alastair Humphreys

Originally aired June 28, 2019Alastair Humphreys is an adventurer, author, and motivational speaker. His first big adventure was completing a four-year bicycle journey around the world that consisted of 46,000 miles of cycling and changed his life forever. After the trip, he popularized the idea of microadventures - short, local, accessible adventures for the average person.  This idea helped him achieve becoming a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year in 2012. Alastair is a huge inspiration of mine and I hope you enjoy our conversation about life, parenting, and the delicate balance between normal life and pursuing adventure.Alastair's books; https://alastairhumphreys.com/shop/AlastairHumphreys.comInstagram: @AL_HUMPHREYSSupport Adventure Sports Podcast monthly by going to Patreon.com/AdventureSportsPodcast or make a one-time donation to the show here. Check out Power7.com for all your ski needs! Ep. 793: Thru-Hiking the Appalachian Trail & Walking Across America…Barefoot - Ron Zaleski

Ep. 793: Thru-Hiking the Appalachian Trail & Walking Across America…Barefoot - Ron Zaleski

Back in 1972, Marine veteran Ron Zaleski decided to take off his shoes in honor of the fallen members of his squadron from the Vietnam war. He doesn’t know exactly why not wearing shoes was his answer of how to deal with the grief and guilt but the fact remained that he never put them back on and he had never told anyone why he went barefoot. That is until one day a little boy asked him why he wasn’t wearing shoes… That boy was the first person Ron had told about why he was living barefoot in over 30 years. Ron immediately saw his dedication to ‘barfootness’ as a way to raise awareness and honor his fallen friends in a much more impactful way. Not long after, Ron set out on a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail and a coast-to-coast walk across the US with no shoes at all to honor and raise awareness for the many challenges veterans face when returning home. His stories are endless, captivating, and amazingly told. To learn more about Ron’s story and to buy his book, The Long Walk Home, visit his website, TheLongWalkHome.org, or buy it on Amazon here. Support Adventure Sports Podcast monthly by going to Patreon.com/AdventureSportsPodcast or make a one-time donation to the show here.
