New Year, New Clippers?

New Year, New Clippers?

Patrick Zajac returns to host the The Lob, The Jam, The Pod, this time joined by Clips Nation writer Robert Flom. The pair sit down for the first episode after an extended holiday break, attempting to make sense of where the Clippers currently stand in the West and what they can do to weather the storm of injury. Patrick and Robert also give their New Year's Resolutions for the team, aside from just getting healthy. It's a brand new year, and hopefully the Clippers can regain their footing as the calendar turns to 2017.

TLTJTP: Shai Has Coming Out Party in Tough Game 4 Loss

TLTJTP: Shai Has Coming Out Party in Tough Game 4 Loss

Game 4 was a great game, but loaded with Clippers' missteps. One guy who did not misstep was the pod's beloved Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who took Doc's challenge to step up this game to heart. Shai had the offensive game of his life, but the other Clipper Doc challenged, Danilo Gallinari, continued to struggle and simply could not hit shots. Lou Williams got to his spots but was off as well, and with both of those guys struggling, it's incredible the Clippers were as close as they were. They got subtle contributions across the board outside of those three, but no one particularly stood out, aside from an extremely surprising Jerome Robinson. We talk about the game, the starting lineup change, Game 5, and take your Twitter questions on the latest episode of the Lob, the Jam, the Podcast!Learn more about your ad choices. TLTJTP: Warriors Punch Back in Game 3

TLTJTP: Warriors Punch Back in Game 3

The highs are high and the lows are low. The Clippers, fresh off an insane comeback, got handled by the Warriors in Game 3, a game that was never in doubt. Kevin Durant decided to destroy the Clippers, and pretty much set the tone for the game with his incredible performance. Meanwhile, the Clippers just could not hit their shots, particularly Danilo Gallinari, who has mostly struggled in this series. Can the Clippers win Game 4 to ensure a Game 6? Will we have another blowout at the hands of the Dubs? What does the team need to do to stay competitive in this next one? All this, some chatter about our coveted front office, and your Twitter questions, on a less hyped episode of the Lob, the Jam, the Podcast!Learn more about your ad choices. TLTJTP: Clippers Pull off the Greatest Playoff Comeback in NBA History

TLTJTP: Clippers Pull off the Greatest Playoff Comeback in NBA History

What a game! We're still buzzing. The LA Clippers came back from THIRTY-ONE (3-1) down in the 3rd quarter and reeled off a comeback that will be remembered in the history of this league. Led by Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell, and the inspired two-way (?!) game of Landry Shamet, the Clippers punched back and sent the dynasty Warriors to the mat, if just for a game. Keep your lottery pick -- the Clipper kids will never forget this game in any playoff game they ever play for the rest of their lives. The guys talk about the comeback, watching this team defy expectations (even their own), the players behind the comeback, your Twitter questions, and the Clippers actually going for a series lead in Los Angeles. Just like the Clips, we just keep coming back, on another episode of the Lob, the Jam, the Podcast!Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

TLTJTP: Clippers Fight Hard, But Fall as Expected in Game 1

TLTJTP: Clippers Fight Hard, But Fall as Expected in Game 1

Ok, take a moment to forget how poorly the Blazers and Nuggets are playing to focus on this Warriors team. They are incredibly good and will likely win this series rather convincingly, but the Clippers can improve on how they played in Game 1! The offense lagged, even though the defensive blueprint was a pretty savvy one. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lou Williams, and Montrezl Harrell all stood out as being ready for the moment, but unfortunately the rest of the team did not. How can the team improve? Do the guys still bank on a sweep? Can we stop looking at the other teams we could have played? The guys talk a little bit more about this and the inevitable Warriors' wins to come on the latest episode of the Lob, the Jam, the Podcast!Learn more about your ad choices. TLTJTP: Warriors Series Preview, Ralph Appreciation, and Season Roundup

TLTJTP: Warriors Series Preview, Ralph Appreciation, and Season Roundup

48 wins? Who would have expected it? But you know what would have been nice? That cushy 6 seed, and a possible path to a WCF berth! Ok, the Clippers probably were not getting to that elusive 3rd round either way, but man the guys can't help but think about that Laker loss changing the trajectory of these playoffs. But honestly, the team should be celebrated this season, and more than anything, Ralph Lawler should be celebrated. We talk about Bill Walton's return and Ralph's send off, and talk a little bit about this upcoming Warriors series as well as the season that was. These, your Twitter questions, and the usual bitterness that comes with rooting for this team for so long, on the latest episode of the Lob, the Jam, the Podcast!Learn more about your ad choices. TLTJTP: Embarrassing Lakers Loss Exposes Stumbling Clippers

TLTJTP: Embarrassing Lakers Loss Exposes Stumbling Clippers

Right when you thought the ghosts of Lob City were behind them, the Clippers put up a true stinker against a garbage team. The Lakers can hold their heads up high as they played with a ton of urgency, while the Clippers sleepwalked through a terrible loss that could cost them serious ground in the playoff chase to close the season. While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continued to ball out, Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams both looked listless, though we know at least the former was a bit sick. Danilo Gallinari and Garrett Temple also showed up, but the rest of the team did not. This after a lifeless showing against the Rockets. How worried should we be about the Clippers? Can we just stop playing Wilson Chandler and Jerome Robinson? And how scary is that potential Warriors matchup that could very much happen?  All this frustration and your Twitter questions on the latest episode of the Lob, the Jam, the Podcast!Learn more about your ad choices. TLTJTP: The Playoff Bound Clippers and the Final Stretch

TLTJTP: The Playoff Bound Clippers and the Final Stretch

The Clippers have been practically therapeutic to Clipper fans this season. Finally devoid of expectations, the team has broken every projection and are trying to somehow accomplish another 50 win season, which would be the first without Chris Paul. You know we're going to gush about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who's put it all together this month, and is putting up some gaudy shooting splits as well as picking up his downhill play. He's not the only one, as the team went a league best (!) 14-2 in the month of March, including arguably the best play of Danilo Gallinari's career. The team also absorbed some injury scares to Patrick Beverley, Montrezl Harrell, and Landry Shamet while coming out on the other side. Now all that's left is staying healthy and seeing who shows up as our first playoff opponent. And, of course, your Twitter questions. Let's get going on the latest episode of the Lob, the Jam, the Podcast!Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

TLTJTP: Clips Reach 5th but Lose Shamet to Injury

TLTJTP: Clips Reach 5th but Lose Shamet to Injury

We can't believe the Clippers are in 5th place right now, but maybe anything is possible in one of the more enjoyable seasons in Clippers franchise history. The team has played some weak teams recently, but they've fattened up their record on them, running just as hot as they did earlier in the season. The team has played well, but the bench has dragged with Wilson Chandler, who is mostly washed. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues his improved play and Danilo Gallinari might be in the best stretch of his career season. Landry Shamet is injured, but it feels like a pretty variable injury, and it's encouraging that he's already questionable for the Wolves game. Who will start in his stead, and will Doc shorten the rotation as a result?
