Up and Down Clips End Week 4th in West

Up and Down Clips End Week 4th in West

It's 2019 and if the playoffs started today, the Clippers would have homecourt in Round 1. Not the worst start to the new year, even if the Clippers' play have left a lot to be desired. The starters continue to come off sluggish to start halves with the bench trying to pick up the pieces. It's been hard to be particularly hyped about the team but still, they're chugging along, and even when they fall behind against good teams, they have fought back until the final horn. The team has been recently buoyed by the strong play of Patrick Beverley and (surprise!) Marcin Gortat, while rookie Shai Gilgeous-Alexander slumped a bit before breaking it in a favorable matchup against the Magic. The nature of the West only provides you with very brief stretches of relief, but the Clips have a nice January. Will they be able to take advantage of it? Nets Stunned, Hobbled Clippers Ring in the New Year with Huge Upset in BKN

Lucas, Rob, and Shap are as surprised as you are, but why should they be after the fight this Clipper team continues to show? Led by a huge Eric Bledsoe performance and timely shots from Reggie Jackson, Terance Mann, and almost the whole roster, the Clippers went into Brooklyn on New Year's Day and leave with a 120-116 W. There's a ton to love about this one, and the guys go over the great play of Bledsoe, Reggie's return, their fit together, Terance's aggression, and the "Life Vests" on the bench as Rob likes to call them.

Much Needed W vs. Celtics with Mook Leading the Way

Much Needed W vs. Celtics with Mook Leading the Way

Rob, Shap, and Cole (@colehoops) get together after the Clippers get a much needed win in Boston, 91-82 against a Celtics team without a ton of players but still with Jaylen Brown. Luckily for the Clippers, their defense held the Cs to a putrid 4/42 from deep, and had nice performances from Mook, Bled, Luke, and Terance. How do the guys feel about these starters, the up and mostly down bench, and a Clipper team that will hopefully get Reggie Jackson back soon?

Short Handed Clips, Now Without PG, Lose Again to Harden & Nets

Shap, Justin (@laclippersfilm), and Jamal (@JamCristopher) get together to talk about a blowout loss to James Harden and the Nets. There were encouraging signs from Eric Bledsoe, the return of Marcus Morris, and the young legs of the squad in the 4th quarter, but a flawed defensive gameplan may have doomed the Clippers. Plus, the guys talk about the loss of Paul George and hint towards a chilly January.

Rag Tag Clippers Brush Aside Kings 105-89 Led By Rising Serge

Rob, Shap, and Joey (@joeylinn_) jump on the pod to talk about a nice win by a Clipper team missing a bunch of pieces but importantly being led by speedy Eric Bledsoe and a resilient Serge Ibaka. LAC pretty much led wire to wire and the second half had some quality appearance by the team's young legs, and the crew look at Bled, Serge, and the potential of this new rotation.

The Clips got into a bit of a shootout without their horses, but there were encouraging signs from a fantastic Eric Bledsoe and a still rolling Marcus Morris Sr. The guys look ahead at the schedule and close on some Rocky franchise talk.
