Clippers Pick Niederhauser at 30th in Quiet First Round

Lucas, Rob, and Shap watched the first round crawl to its end as the Clippers selected Yanic Konan Niederhauser with the last pick of the round. The crew analyze the pick and where the young 7 footer can fit on this Clipper team, what to expect out of him given his college prowess, and a very familiar feeling for this range of the draft.

Clippers End Miserable Week with Surprising Win

Clippers End Miserable Week with Surprising Win

Well, the Clippers are hanging on for dear life in the playoff picture right now. The team came into Sunday on a 5 game losing streak and having lost 2 of their 3 best scorers to injury. The team had already been playing pretty bad basketball, but they played a great game in San Antonio and caught the Spurs napping a bit in an afternoon game. The Clippers have done their share of napping in their home afternoon games, so this game was a welcomed showing from a Clipper team that frankly, has not been fun ot watch for quite some time. Tobias Harris and Patrick Beverley had two of their best games as Clippers, and the team got solid contributions across the board. What do the Clippers need to do to maintain their positioning in the playoffs? What about the tweaks to the rotation today, featuring changes in the starting lineup and a nice performance from pod favorite Jonathan Motley? How long can the Clippers stay afloat without their scoring punch? Blake's Revenge and a Mediocre Clipper Week

Blake's Revenge and a Mediocre Clipper Week

The Los Angeles Clippers do not look particularly good right now. They won a nice wire to wire game against an uninspired Hornet team this week, but were otherwise handled with ease by the West leading Nuggets and pretty much lost wire to wire against a bad Pistons team. Blake Griffin came back and played inspired basketball, Reggie Bullock hit timely threes, and Andre Drummond 20/20'd, but that Piston team is not very good. While the Clippers are in the thick of things in the standings, the slow starts are becoming more and more concerning. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is continuing to lose minutes and Avery Bradley continues to exist. A very nice positive from the Pistons loss was Tyrone Wallace, who really shined in a featured role, particularly in the 4th quarter. And of course, with Blake showing off and Tobias Harris being quite unimpressive, the guys will touch a bit on the Blake Griffin trade, a year later. Up and Down Clips End Week 4th in West

Up and Down Clips End Week 4th in West

It's 2019 and if the playoffs started today, the Clippers would have homecourt in Round 1. Not the worst start to the new year, even if the Clippers' play have left a lot to be desired. The starters continue to come off sluggish to start halves with the bench trying to pick up the pieces. It's been hard to be particularly hyped about the team but still, they're chugging along, and even when they fall behind against good teams, they have fought back until the final horn. The team has been recently buoyed by the strong play of Patrick Beverley and (surprise!) Marcin Gortat, while rookie Shai Gilgeous-Alexander slumped a bit before breaking it in a favorable matchup against the Magic. The nature of the West only provides you with very brief stretches of relief, but the Clips have a nice January. Will they be able to take advantage of it? Are The Clips Back? A Strong Week Shows They Might Be.

Are The Clips Back? A Strong Week Shows They Might Be.

The Clippers got Lou Williams back after a tough loss against the Blazers, and suddenly, the offense is purring like a kitten again. It's definitely not coincidence, though that purring could not prevent a heartbreaking loss to a simply unfair Warriors team, who, galvanized by their crowd, held the Clippers off to the a tune of a 129-127 victory in Oracle on a Stephen Curry game winner. Still, the Clips have looked promising, this game included. What was predicted to be a blowout schedule loss by the guys was one of the best games of the season, and the Clips and Dubs have traded a couple of nailbiters, something the team has not been able to say in their regular season matchups in quite some time. Is Lou all this team needed? Is Avery Bradley's strong finish to tonight's game erase all of our worries about him. (Spoilers: no.) How happy is Montrezl Harrell to see Lou Williams? How long can Tobias Harris and Danilo Gallinari cook like this? All this and your twitter questions on the Lob, the Jam, the Podcast! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Clippers Losing Skid, Kawhi/Durant Rumors

Clippers Losing Skid, Kawhi/Durant Rumors

The Clippers have been losing a little too much recently, and they've dropped in the West standings as a result. Most recently they climbed back against a very good Thunder team, but never really challenged for a win. The starting lineup seems to have some very serious flaws, and the guard rotation is still a bit confusing. Can the Clippers turn it around? We knew they wouldn't be first, but where can they finish? How badly does this team miss Lou Williams? Plus, the guys talk about the rumors surrounding Kevin Durant and the particularly aggressive pitch to pod favorite, Kawhi Leonard. Clippers Slip Against Griz and Heat

Clippers Slip Against Griz and Heat

For the first time all season, this pod is coming off a pretty gross loss. The Clippers played sloppy basketball for three quarters against the Heat and then totally laid down in the 4th quartr and got run off their own floor. Dwyane Wade was allowed to look like the Hall of Famer he is and the Clippers barely scored any baskets at all through the entire quarter. In what was the ashes of hopefully the worst loss of the season, Rob and Shap look ahead 3 games in 4 nights schedule and a showdown in OKC against a rolling Thunder team. With the Clippers no longer in 1st in the West, have our expectations of the team changed? What are these rotations recently that Doc has been using? Clippers End Week With Tough Loss, In Midst of Heavy Road Schedule.

Clippers End Week With Tough Loss, In Midst of Heavy Road Schedule.

The Clippers are still tied for the best record in the West, but ended the week with a thud rather than a bang. After a nice win on the second night of a back to back in Sacramento, the Clippers lost a game with mediocre play against a team missing arguably their best player and heavy ROTY favorite, Luka Doncic. The Clips were lit up by Harrison Barnes and definitely missed Luc Mbah a Moute tonight. The schedule has taken a turn for the road heavy, and the team are in the midst of a December where they have three stretches of three games in four nights. Will the Clippers legs get weary? The guys also talk about the recent comments made about the Clippers not making the playoffs by Charles Barkley last week. That, your twitter questions, and much more on the newest episode of the Lob, the Jam, the Podcast! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Clippers Soar to the Top of the West! (Briefly)

The Clippers Soar to the Top of the West! (Briefly)

The Clippers were number one in the West to end this past week and were the talk of the town. They still are after a few impressive wins over the past 2. weeks, however the Warriors did reclaim the best record in the West on Monday. Nonetheless, the Clippers have been a delight so far this season, and even after a disappointing loss in DC, the Clips backed it up with a couple of great comebacks against two of the West's best. How can the Clippers keep this up? Are they not only a playoff contender, but a Western Conference power? How does the West somehow have 14 quality teams? Are both Tobias Harris and Montrezl Harrell All-Stars? Robert and Shapan are hyped, and you should be too, for the latest the Lob, the Jam, the Podcast! Learn more about your ad choices.
