#nffc memorable goals: Simon Cox vs Birmingham City, 15th September 2012

This moment was Bergkamp-esque - hard to describe, but you cannot help but marvel at the movement, and the way in which Simon Cox brings the ball down over his shoulder, before poking it past the goalkeeper in the same movement. Cox’s finest moment in a Forest shirt won the Championship Goal Of The Season that year. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Bristol City 0-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Bristol City 0-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. It was a goalless draw, and a fairly unexciting encounter between two teams now mired in mid-table obscurity - but what a relief for Reds fans to be able to say that after looking over their shoulders all season. Alex Mighten came closest for the visitors, hitting the post in the first half, before former Reds skipper Henri Lansbury returned the favour from the other end, with Brice Samba stranded. Erm, that's about it - neither keeper had much to do, and although Forest were probably the better team, Chris Hughton was disappointed not to have inflicted an eighth straight home defeat on City. Rich Ferraro is joined by Stanley Hughes from the One Stream In Bristol podcast, to dissect the match and wallow in the misery of lockdown football - we didn't even mention the annoying swimming pool noises over the Tannoy. Nottingham Forest 3-1 Queens Park Rangers: The 1865 Match Report

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Get in touch to claim your exclusive FanHub Golden Ticket - but hurry as there are only a few left! Following on from their Good Friday victory at Cardiff City, Nottingham Forest hosted Queens Park Rangers on Easter Monday and rounded off the double-header by making it maximum points from their two Easter matches. A confident, attacking display from the Reds saw them comfortably see off Mark Warburton's Rangers, with goals from Alex Mighten, Lewis Grabban and James Garner securing the victory. Mighten's recent bright displays were rewarded with his close-range finish in the first half, while Grabban bagged his fourth of the season as he rifled home a curling drive from 25 yards before Garner rounded off the win. A late consolation for the visitors couldn't take off the shine as Chris Hughton's side put in a dominant display against the in-form Hoops to move 13 points clear of the relegation zone with six games of the season remaining. Steven reflects on an enjoyable Forest display and a level of Forest performance which provides optimism not just for the remainder of this season but for next season too. Like what you hear? Cardiff City 0-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Get in touch to claim your exclusive FanHub Golden Ticket - but hurry as there are only a few left! Forest started their Easter programme in the perfect way as they secured a hard-fought victory away at playoff-chasing Cardiff City. On a glorious sunny afternoon in South Wales, James Garner rounded off a neat team move to score the only goal of the game and earn Chris Hughton's Reds all three points. The hosts had a few opportunities in the second half but Forest battled their way to the win and move 10 points clear of the Championship's bottom three in the process. We are joined by Ben Price from the View from the Ninian podcast to discuss events at the Cardiff City Stadium; in particular what Forest did so well on the day to keep Mick McCarthy's men quiet and where this result leaves the Bluebirds in their playoff chase. Brentford 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Get in touch to claim your exclusive FanHub Golden Ticket - but hurry as there are only a few left! Forest faced another match against one of the Championship top six as they travelled to West London to take on Brentford. The hosts took the lead through an Ivan Toney penalty early in the first half but Forest responded by dominating possession and were rewarded for a positive display just past the hour mark, as Filip Krovinovic netted his first goal for the club, slotting home after The Bees failed to clear Gaetan Bong's cross. For Chris Hughton's men, it was a case of a point well-deserved whilst Brentford were left to rue missed opportunities. We are joined by Robin Hood from the Beesotted Pride of West London Podcast to mull over events at the Brentford Community Stadium, looking at the performance of both sides, where Brentford's promotion hopes stand after this latest result and how Forest's prospects look for the remainder of the season. Nottingham Forest 0-2 Norwich City: The 1865 Match Report

Nottingham Forest 0-2 Norwich City: The 1865 Match Report

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Get in touch to claim your exclusive FanHub Golden Ticket - but hurry as there are only a few left! Another defeat at the hands of one of the top teams in the division - well, THE top team. Norwich tore the Reds to pieces, especially in the first half, and Chris Hughton admitted that Forest just didn't get close enough to their opponents. It was probably a surprise that the scoreline stayed at 0-2 after such a bad start to the match, but Forest did have opportunities, most notably for Ryan Yates and the hapless Lewis Grabban. We are joined by Norwich fan Tyrone Bradford, dissecting not just the match but also having an in-depth chat about Chris Hughton, footballing philosophies, and the importance of long-term strategic thinking (contrasting Norwich's stability and success with the inconsistencies and stop-start nature of life at the City Ground). Finances and Football Index failure: The 1865 Forest Ramble meets Kieran Maguire

Finances and Football Index failure: The 1865 Forest Ramble meets Kieran Maguire

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. The Reds releasing their financial figures last week, and as expected there were significant losses, which was followed by the news of Football Index's demise leading to the loss of shirt sponsorship. Initial forecasts suggested that the Reds were likely to be mid-table in terms of expected losses, but with nearly £150 going out for every £100 coming in, is this sustainable? We were delighted to be joined by football finance expert Kieran Maguire to discuss wages, losses, the City Ground, and whether it is promotion or bust, especially with the effects of Coronavirus on Championship football. Thank you to Kieran for taking the time to join us. Like what you hear?
