Nottingham Forest 1-3 Brentford: The 1865 Forest Ramble Podcast

Nottingham Forest 1-3 Brentford: The 1865 Forest Ramble Podcast

Another match, another defeat. The results are awful, and some fans are laying the blame at whoever they can - players, managers, CEO/owner, each other. However, after an awful first half (and another cheap goal conceded), Forest actually gave Brentford something to think about, just as they did against Norwich and Watford. You might not believe it, but there are signs of life. We were once again asked to appear on Talksport2 to share our thoughts about the situation at the City Ground, and we are also joined by Billy Grant from Brentford podcast Beesotted, for a review of the match and a summary of Forest's hopes for the rest of the season. Nottingham Forest 5-1 Swansea City: The 1865 Match Report

Nottingham Forest 5-1 Swansea City: The 1865 Match Report

A thumping victory from the Reds, but it could and should have been more. On a day when Bournemouth remained in pole position, Forest ensured that they were keeping the pressure on for the final automatic promotion place. Sam Surridge's hat-trick was the highlight, with Cyrus Christie's farcical own goal and Alex Mighten's scrambled effort ensuring that the Reds kept a healthy goal difference, as this could still be crucial. In this extended podcast, Rich Ferraro and Baz discuss a first half that was frankly insane, a second period in which Forest stamped their authority on the game, and the atmosphere before, during and after the match. We also discuss how the Reds will be feeling, and whether Bournemouth are rattled, before Tuesday night's head-to=head encounter, in what is surely the Reds' biggest game in years. Fulham 0-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Fulham 0-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

An outstanding night for Forest as they battled and fought their way to a clean sheet and an excellent three points away to champions-elect Fulham. Philip Zinckernagel's scrambled goal (with an assist from the gaffer) was enough to secure the points, but that only tells half the story. Steven Toplis and Tom Newton discuss a famous night for Forest, with a home fans' view from Matt from the Fulham Focus podcast. The Reds are now within three points of second-placed Bournemouth, and level on goal difference; one game at a time ... one game at a time... Peterborough United 0-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Peterborough United 0-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

A narrow win for Forest drew them one step closer to the play-offs but relegated plucky Peterborough United. Sam Surridge's goal just before half-time came after excellent work on the counter-attack from Philip Zinckernagel and Brennan Johnson, and despite the home team's continued efforts, Forest had enough to see the game out. The Maradona of the Midlands and Steven Toplis report on a victory that was very different from last week's thumping win over West Bromwich Albion. Nottingham Forest 4-0 West Bromwich Albion: The 1865 Match Report

Nottingham Forest 4-0 West Bromwich Albion: The 1865 Match Report

A thumping victory for Steve Cooper's Reds, as they bounced back from Good Friday defeat against Luton Town. Forest completely controlled most of the match, and goals from Johnson, Yates, Colback and Surridge grabbed the points. Jack Colback's effort has gone viral as a goal of the season contender, but did he really mean it? The visitors were bad-tempered, and although Steve Bruce grumbled about the incorrect award of a throw-in, it is difficult to overstate how poor his tactical setup was, even before Darnell Furlong's early red card for two bookings. The second half was not exciting to watch, but again, the Reds were in control as the Baggies barely got into the Forest half. Rich Ferraro and Steven Toplis review the match, with a view from the away end from Louis of the Baggies Podcast. Luton Town 1-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Luton Town 1-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

The referee and his team took centre stage at Kenilworth Road, as a controversial penalty and some baffling decisions left Steve Cooper furious. Forest had decent chances but Grabban and Zinckernagel will both feel that they should have done better, while Djed Spence's goal was wrongly ruled out for offside (yes, the rules are odd, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be enforced). Luton suffered themselves, as Sonny Bradley received a second yellow card when Sam Surridge should have been called offside. Rich Ferraro is joined by Luton supporter Ryan McCole to get a view from the opposition, and Tom Newton also joins the discussion, fresh from the away end at Kenilworth Road. Nottingham Forest 2-0 Birmingham City: The 1865 Match Report

Nottingham Forest 2-0 Birmingham City: The 1865 Match Report

Steve Cooper's Mighty Reds ascended to third in the league, albeit in a match overshadowed by a serious-looking injury to visiting keeper Neil Etheridge. Forest took an early lead with Keinan Davis' blasted finish, although that only told part of the story as the build up evoked memories of the Chuckle Brothers and the Isley Brothers. After Etheridge was stretchered off midway through the second period, the mighty Scott McKenna sealed the points with a header from Jimmy Garner's corner. Rich Ferraro and Baz review the match, with a view from the away end from Tom of the Blues Focus Podcast. Rich and Baz then dare to dream - with five consecutive victories, favourable results elsewhere, and second-placed Bournemouth having a tricky run-in, can the Reds really challenge for automatic promotion? Nottingham Forest 2-0 Coventry City: The 1865 Match Report

Nottingham Forest 2-0 Coventry City: The 1865 Match Report

Another hard-fought victory from the Reds, perhaps lacking in style and panache but making up for that with grit and determination, against a decent Coventry team and a baffling referee. After the match, Steve Cooper claimed that he wasn't aware that this win put Forest in the play-off places! However, he did comment on the need to keep up the momentum, not only in results but also playing style and game plan. Steven Toplis and Baz review the match, with a view from the away end from Glenn of Sky Blue Fans TV. Blackpool 1-4 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Blackpool 1-4 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

A real statement victory from the Reds, as they were ruthless in the first half against a Blackpool team who will have had their own play-off ambitions. An early deflected effort by Philip Zinckernagel was added to by two brilliantly taken goals from man-of-the-moment Brennan Johnson. We also have kind words to say about the whole team, but there is a special mention for Scott McKenna, who is still supposed to be injured! Rich Ferraro is joined by Adam, who had just returned from his day out at the seaside, as we discuss all the action, the post-match reactions from the two managers, and we are pleased to offer praise to the referee!
