This week we are chatting with the fabulous Eva Bloom (@whatsmybodydoing), queer s3x educator and s3x research nerd! Eva aims to break down the rigid scripts around s3xuality and affirm marginalized individuals to build their most authentic s3x lives, feel at home in their identities, and have confidence in navigating their s3xual health. Their approach centres on queer and trans young people, and aims to promote evidence-based education, s3x positivity, radical body positivity, and s3xual health as a human right. Eva has worked with institutions across Canada such as the University of British Columbia, Women’s College Hospital, McMaster University, and University of Toronto. She has also worked with leading brands within the s3xuality industry such as We-Vibe and Come As You Are. Not to mention, she’s written in publications such as Teen Vogue and Greatist, hosts a s3x-ed YouTube channel called “What’s My Body Doing” (with over 2 million views), and is currently in the process of making a documentary which focuses on the intersection of technology and s3xuality in young Canadian women’s lives!
