The Pacific Ocean. The longest leg of the journey, and Verne dispatches it with characteristic efficiency.

Chapter 24 gets the whole party across the Pacific in the way Fogg does everything - on schedule, without sentiment, and without once stopping to appreciate how remarkable it is that they're doing it. Then Chapter 25 lands us in San Francisco, and "a slight glimpse" is Verne being modest — there's enough happening in this chapter to make an impression.
