The Stress Release Exhale: Your Five Second Reset Button

The Stress Release Exhale: Your Five Second Reset Button

Hey there, and welcome. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. You know, it's early Sunday morning, and I'm guessing you might have a week ahead that's already knocking on your door. Maybe you're thinking about Monday, or maybe stress is just your constant companion these days. Either way, you're in exactly the right place. Today, we're going to work with something I call the Stress Release Exhale, and I promise it's going to feel like opening a window in a stuffy room. So let's settle in together. Find yourself somewhere comfortable—doesn't have to be fancy, just somewhere you can be yourself for the next few minutes. You can sit, lie down, whatever feels good. Let your shoulders drop away from your ears. Good. And just notice what it feels like to be here right now, in your body, in this moment. Let's start by just breathing naturally. No changing anything yet. Just notice the breath moving in and out, like a gentle tide. In through your nose, out through your mouth. In through your nose, out through your mouth. You're doing great. Now, here's where the magic happens. I want you to imagine that stress is physical—because honestly, it kind of is, right? It lives in your shoulders, your jaw, your chest. So on your next inhale, breathe in through your nose for a count of four, and as you do, imagine you're gathering all that tension like you're collecting clouds. Hold it for a moment. Feel it there. Now, here's the release: open your mouth and let out a long, audible sigh. Make it real. Make it yours. Let that stress dissolve like sugar in warm water. Again. Inhale through your nose for four. Feel the gathering. Hold for just a beat. And sigh it out. Really let it go. One more time, and this time, notice how different your body feels. Inhale for four. Hold. And siiiiiigh. Beautiful. As you sit here, notice what's shifted. Maybe your shoulders are lighter. Maybe your mind is a little quieter. That's your nervous system saying thank you. Here's what I want you to take with you today: whenever you feel that stress creeping in, you have this tool in your pocket. One conscious sigh can reset everything. Try it at your desk, in your car, before that difficult conversation. It takes five seconds and it works. Thank you so much for being here and for choosing to invest in your own wellbeing today. If this resonated with you, please subscribe so we can do this together again. You're worth this care. For great deals today, check out https://amzn.to/47ZqpWT
