Friday's Reset: Finding Your Calm in 10 Minutes

Friday's Reset: Finding Your Calm in 10 Minutes

Welcome back, friend. I'm Julia, and I'm so glad you're here today. You know, it's Friday morning—that sweet spot where the week's finally loosening its grip, but maybe you're still carrying some of that tension in your shoulders, or maybe it's settled somewhere deeper. That's completely normal. Life has been moving fast, and stress has this sneaky way of becoming part of our baseline, doesn't it? Today, we're going to gently shake that off together. So let's start by finding somewhere comfortable. You might be on a couch, sitting at your desk, or maybe even still in bed. It doesn't matter. What matters is that you're here, taking this ten minutes for yourself. And that already counts. Let's begin by noticing your breath. You don't need to change it or fix it. Just observe it like you're watching leaves float down a river. Breathe in through your nose for a count of four. One, two, three, four. Hold it gently. Now exhale through your mouth for a count of six. One, two, three, four, five, six. Good. Let's do that two more times at your own rhythm. Your breath is your anchor. Now, I want to introduce you to something I call the "stress scan and release." Think of stress like water collecting in different pools throughout your body. We're going to locate those pools and gently release them. Starting at the top of your head, imagine a warm light. Notice any tightness. Maybe your jaw is clenched? That's where so many of us hold stress. Let your jaw soften like butter melting on warm toast. Your tongue rests on the floor of your mouth. Good. Move that warm light down to your shoulders. They're probably somewhere near your ears right now, aren't they? Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, imagine them sliding down like they're slipping off a hanger. Let them be heavy and relaxed. Scan down your chest and belly. Sometimes stress sits here like a knot we've forgotten about. Breathe into any tightness you find. With each exhale, imagine that tension dissolving like sugar in warm water. Continue this awareness down through your legs, your feet, noticing and releasing. There's no judgment here. You're simply bringing attention to what's been holding on, and giving it permission to let go. Now here's the beautiful part: carry this with you today. When you feel that familiar tension creeping back, pause for just thirty seconds. Feel your feet on the ground. Take three long breaths. That's it. You've got a reset button now, and it's always with you. Thank you so much for spending this time with me. Your commitment to your own peace matters more than you know. Please subscribe so we can practice together again soon. Until next time, be kind to yourself. For great deals today, check out https://amzn.to/47ZqpWT
