Stress Release Scan: Your Body's Permission to Finally Relax

Stress Release Scan: Your Body's Permission to Finally Relax

Hey there, I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. Whether you're nursing your second coffee, sneaking five minutes between meetings, or finally sitting down after a day that felt like you were herding cats, I see you. Stress has this sneaky way of settling into our shoulders, our jaw, our chest, doesn't it? Like an unwelcome houseguest who won't leave. Today, I want to help you show that stress to the door. Let's start by finding a comfortable seat. Doesn't have to be perfect. Cross-legged, in a chair, on your bed, wherever you are right now is exactly right. Just let your shoulders drop away from your ears and feel your spine lengthen, like someone's gently tugging a golden thread from the crown of your head toward the sky. Now, take a breath in through your nose for a count of four. Hold it for a moment. And exhale through your mouth like you're fogging a mirror, slowly and completely. Let's do that one more time together. Breathing in, two, three, four. Holding. And releasing. Beautiful. Here's what we're going to do. I'm going to guide you through something I call the Stress Release Scan, and it's going to feel like giving your nervous system permission to finally relax. Close your eyes if that feels good. Picture a warm, golden light starting at the very top of your head. It's like honey, slow and soothing. As you breathe, let that light move down through your forehead, melting away any tension. Feel your eyebrows soften. Your temples release. Your jaw unclenches. That's it. Let the light flow down your neck and shoulders. This is where we hold so much, isn't it? Imagine each exhale is gently loosening those tight muscles, like you're turning a key in a lock. Down your arms now, through your chest. Feel your heart space open just a little. Your breathing becomes easier, calmer. Continue this light down through your belly, your lower back, your hips. There's no rush. We're just inviting relaxation, not forcing it. Down your legs, your knees, your ankles. All the way to the soles of your feet, grounding you safely. Take three more deep breaths, feeling this sense of calm settle throughout your whole body. You've created this space. You can return to it anytime today. When you're ready, gently open your eyes. Here's my challenge for you: pick one moment today, just one, where you pause and do three conscious breaths. Maybe it's before you open an email, before a conversation, or after lunch. That simple anchor will carry this calm forward. Thank you so much for joining me on Stress Relief today. Your commitment to this practice matters more than you know. Please subscribe so you never miss a moment of mindfulness, and I'll see you next time. For great deals today, check out https://amzn.to/47ZqpWT
