Caleb Flynn Sent Ashley Love Texts While Planning Her Death

Former American Idol contestant and worship pastor Caleb Flynn allegedly sent more than 100,000 messages to his mistress in the year before his wife Ashley was found shot to death inside their Tipp City, Ohio, home. Prosecutors say some of those texts contained direct thoughts about killing Ashley without going to jail. The defense says he was just telling the other woman what she wanted to hear, and points to warm, loving messages Flynn was sending Ashley during the same period.

Psychotherapist and author Shavaun Scott joins Tony to break down the psychology of what the jury is seeing. Can a person maintain a genuine loving relationship with one woman while texting another about murder? What does the "appeasement" defense look like through a clinical lens? And how does the mistress on the other end process messages like that without calling police?

Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. His trial is underway in Troy, Ohio.
