What Bryan Kohberger's Parents Told ABC News About His Confession

Bryan Kohberger confessed to the murders of four University of Idaho students in July 2025 as part of a deal to avoid the death penalty. He was sentenced to four consecutive life sentences. One year later, he filed a handwritten petition claiming the confession was coerced and that he is actually innocent.

Now his family is publicly backing him. In a statement to ABC News, the Kohbergers said their support comes from their need to see "the complete and unvarnished truth." They want a proper trial. The Goncalves family responded by calling Kohberger "a mosquito you just can't seem to swat."
