Smoke and Golden Light: Your Three Breath Escape from Sunday Stress

Smoke and Golden Light: Your Three Breath Escape from Sunday Stress

Hey there, friend. Welcome back. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. You know, Sunday mornings in early October have this particular flavor of chaos, don't they? Maybe you're already thinking about the week ahead, or perhaps you're carrying something from yesterday that just won't quite leave your shoulders. Whatever brought you here today, I want you to know that showing up for yourself like this, right now, is exactly what you need. So let's settle in together. Find yourself a comfortable seat, somewhere that feels safe. Maybe near a window if you can. I'll wait while you get cozy. Good. Now, let's take a moment to arrive here, fully and completely. Start by noticing your breath, not to change it, just to notice it. Where do you feel it most? Maybe at your nostrils, cool air coming in, warm air going out. Or perhaps deeper, in your belly, rising and falling like gentle waves on a shore. There's no right answer here, just your breath, doing what it's been doing faithfully all day long without you even asking. Now I want to teach you something I call the Stress Release Anchor. It's simple, and it works because it speaks your body's language. As you breathe in through your nose for a count of four, imagine drawing in calm. Visualize it as a soft, golden light entering your body. Hold it for four counts, letting that light settle into your chest, your shoulders, anywhere tension lives. Then exhale for six counts through your mouth, and here's the magic part: as you breathe out, imagine stress leaving like smoke, dissolving into the air where it can't touch you anymore. Let's practice together. In for four: one, two, three, four. Hold: two, three, four. Out for six: one, two, three, four, five, six. Feel that? That slightly longer exhale actually signals your nervous system that you're safe. Your body believes you. In for four. Hold. Out for six. One more time, really feeling it this time. Beautiful. Now, here's how you carry this forward: choose one moment today when stress usually finds you. Maybe it's your commute, or that meeting, or scrolling through your phone. Pick one moment and anchor yourself with just three of those breaths. That's it. Three breaths, and you've literally changed your physiology. Thank you so much for spending this time with me on Stress Relief. Your nervous system is already thanking you. If this resonated with you, please subscribe so we can journey through wellness together again soon. You've got this, friend. For great deals today, check out https://amzn.to/47ZqpWT
