Nottingham Forest 3-0 Barnsley: The 1865 Match Report

1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Forest continued their winning ways by seeing off bottom side Barnsley in front of a bumper Tuesday evening crowd of 27,000 at The City Ground. After a quiet opening, Forest took the lead on 15 minutes when Keinan Davis dispossed Mads Andersen, before striding through and slotting the ball into the corner for his first goal in a Reds shirt since joining on loan from Aston Villa. Steve Cooper's side doubled their lead seven minutes before the break as Ryan Yates finished off a flowing move, which involved an incisive Jack Colback pass to release Brennan Johnson down the left, where he put a superb cross in which Yates tapped home, timing his run into the box perfectly. A slow start to the second half saw little action but Forest stepped it up again and added a third on 75 minutes. Djed Spence carried the ball down the right flank, seeing off the attention of several Barnsley defenders, he rolled the ball inside where Johnson stroked it first time into the far bottom corner to cap off a comfortable victory. The Reds saw an effort by Steve Cook saved and a Xande Silva strike hit the post as they went on to secure a win which moves them closer to the Championship playoff places. Steven is joined by Tom Newton to reflect on Forest's win, including the influence Brennan Johnson is having on the side, how Forest got the job done on the night and Steve Cooper's post-match comments, where he made reference to 'that' Charlton game and was keen to avoid a repeat, following the high of the Derby victory on Saturday. Nottingham Forest 2-1 Aston Villa: The 1865 Match Report

Nottingham Forest 2-1 Aston Villa: The 1865 Match Report

It was a brilliant last gasp win for the Reds in a match that had it all - a war of tactical attrition, controversial VAR decisions, one of the greatest saves in modern football history and two late goals pushing the Reds into fourth (FOURTH) position in the Premier League. George Edwards and The Maradona Of The Midlands report after a cold night in Nottingham that saw the City Ground heat up in the last thirty minutes. Nuno was happy, Emery was not, but nights like this give Forest supporters belief that maybe we are watching the real deal. Manchester United 2-3 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Manchester United 2-3 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Almost thirty years to the day since a number 10 from Stafford scored a winning goal for Forest at Old Trafford, history pretty much repeated itself. It was a little nerve-wracking at times but in truth Forest were really good value for the win, which lifted them to fifth place in the Premier League table. Steven Toplis and Tom Newton report on a great day for Forest fans, in which goals from Milenković, Gibbs-White and a record-setting finish from Chris Wood saw the Reds take the points. We'll be back with the Friday 5 at the end of the week and our Villa report after next Saturday evening's game. Manchester City 3-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Manchester City 3-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Like the Arsenal match, Forest were well-beaten in this one, but unlike that game, it could have felt a bit different if Forest had taken their chances at some crucial moments. Alas, it was not to be, and don't be fooled by Man City's recent form - with de Bruyne in the team they are still very much part of the Premier League elite. Rich is joined by Adam for a report from behind enemy lines, as goals from Bernardo Silva, de Bruyne and Doku settled this encounter and the Reds were tactically sewn up by Pep. We'll be back with your match report after the second part of the Manchester double-header at the weekend. Nottingham Forest 1-0 Ipswich Town: The 1865 Match Report

Nottingham Forest 1-0 Ipswich Town: The 1865 Match Report

A much needed victory for the Reds after two heavy defeats, with Chris Wood's penalty making the difference. Ipswich were good value and it took a first half clearance off the line by Ola Aina to preserve the clean sheet. However, once Forest were in the lead they were probably the better team, despite the away side's late efforts. Our match report is brought to you by Baz and Tom. We'll be back with match reports from the two away games in Manchester in the next week. In the meantime, Forest are top six, and are MASSIVE. Arsenal 3-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Arsenal 3-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

A really disappointing result as the Reds were taken to the sword by Arsenal. Like in the Newcastle game before, our opponents were clearly 2-3 years (at least) ahead of us in their development and Forest did crumble a bit. With no Gibbs-White or Anderson, and Wood only on the bench, Forest simply didn't create enough and paid the price, with Bukayo Saka scoring against us like he always does. Match report by George Edwards with wisdom from Dom Allin from Over The Trent podcast.
