West Bromwich Albion 0-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

West Bromwich Albion 0-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Another match, another draw for the Reds. This game was probably not that high on quality but there were some talking points. West Brom huffed and puffed and occasionally got in behind the Forest backline, but they offered little upfront and Brice Samba only had one notable save to make. Forest were similarly blunt in the final third, with Sam Johnstone palming over Brennan Johnson's deflected effort. However, there is still much to be pleased about - Forest were missing Max Lowe and Jack Colback, but were still competitive throughout, and after Jayson Molumby's red card the away side looked the most likely, with attacking substitutions, efforts blocked, and crosses just missed. There was still a get out of jail moment when Jordan Hugill showed a lack of composure in front of goal, but it says a lot that Steve Cooper's Reds were disappointed with an away draw at an ex-Premier League side. Nottingham Forest 0-0 Luton Town: The 1865 Match Report

Nottingham Forest 0-0 Luton Town: The 1865 Match Report

1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. A goalless draw at the City Ground only tells half the story, on a night short on quality but with plenty of incident. Unfortunately, most eyes were on referee Jeremy Simpson, who was trying to make a name for himself by awarding a penalty to Luton, sending off Jack Colback, and then denying the Reds what looked like a clear penalty at the other end. It says a lot when both managers are unhappy with the officials. Both teams could have won it - Brice Samba saved the pen and then made a great save later on, but Lyle Taylor could have given Forest the lead earlier on. As well as Samba, there were good performances by Scott McKenna and debutant Braian Ojeda. We speak to Luton fan Ryan McCole to discuss the major talking points. Reading 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Reading 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. A draw away at Reading probably feels more like two points dropped, rather than a point gained, especially as the Royals were rocked by a six-point deduction, a host of injuries, and Philip Zinckernagel's excellent early goal. However, the home team went on to be the stronger team for most of the first half, although it took them until 62 minutes to get back into the match after the introduction of sub Andy Carroll. Forest will feel like they had the better chances in the second half, with Lewis Grabban having two efforts of note. Rich Ferraro and the Maradona Of The Midlands discuss the above, as well as Max Lowe and the Colback/Yates axis, and much more. We also remind you of our giveaway, courtesy of our friends at theterracestore.com - review our podcast and email a screengrab to forestramble@gmail.com by 8pm on Friday 26th November for a chance to win. Positive football, positive results and a rapid rise up the table; Steve Cooper has continued to make quite the impression since his appointment as Forest head coach. Steven Toplis is joined by Baz, The Maradona of the Midlands and Tom Newton and Steven Toplis to discuss the impact Cooper has made in his first few weeks at The City Ground and reflect on how watching Forest has suddenly become enjoyable once again. We also discuss the revival of Jack Colback in a red shirt, Lewis Grabban's importance to the side as well as ponder the future of the influential on-loan wingbacks Max Lowe and Djed Spence. Not to mention Jeremy Davies offering his monthly musings, a game of Guess That Red, and another great giveaway courtesy of our friends at theterracestore.com - listen to the podcast and email forestramble@gmail.com with your reviews by 8pm on Friday 26th November for a chance to win. Nottingham Forest 3-0 Preston North End: The 1865 Match Report

Nottingham Forest 3-0 Preston North End: The 1865 Match Report

1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. In a break with recent tradition, there were no late goals or comebacks in this one, as Forest recorded a comfortable (in the end) victory over Preston North End. Forest reverted to a 4-2-3-1 formation in an attempt to get the first goal and provide more attacking threat, and although Preston made a confident start, the Reds struck first through Lewis Grabban's penalty. MOTM Jack Colback added a great second goal before half-time. It's worth noting that the Reds didn't have it all their own way - at the start of each half, the visitors exerted pressure, and Grabban's second goal after a jinking, mazy run from Brennan Johnson was needed to put the game to bed. After three matches in a row with (ahem) curious refereeing decisions, Forest probably got the benefit of the doubt for much of this game. Rich Ferraro and Baz report on a welcome three points. Nottingham Forest 1-1 Sheffield United: The 1865 Match Report

Nottingham Forest 1-1 Sheffield United: The 1865 Match Report

1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Late goal? Check. Belief and resilience? Check. The Amazing Djed Spence? Check. "Interesting" refereeing? Check check check it out - the 1865 Match Report is here! Rich Ferraro and Steven Toplis discuss a match that was a great advert for the Championship; despite only one save all match, there was plenty of action, and both teams will feel like they could have taken all three points. After substitute Billy Sharp created the Blades' opener for the excellent Morgan Gibbs-White, our own veteran forward Lewis Grabban came off the bench to score a real striker's goal.  The big talking points for the Reds were Jack Colback at left back; the impact of the subs (again); the performance of human Duracell bunny Djed Spence (again); and of course that penalty incident (again) which saw an incredulous Brennan Johnson booked for diving. Most of all, it was telling that, even after conceding on 78 minutes, the fans and team knew that they could get back into the match, and maybe even win it. Queens Park Rangers 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Queens Park Rangers 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. A late late deflected goal from Jack Colback provided the bit of luck that Forest needed to get a point away at QPR. The Reds had played well but struggled with the final ball, and as a result Seny Diang did not have much to do in the Rangers net. On the other hand, QPR scored on the stroke of half time, and could have had more in the second half as the Reds chased the game. Baz is joined by Tom Newton for this review of the game, reflecting on the belief and never-say-die attitude that characterises this Forest team and Head Coach. Unfortunately, there are also more than a few words for this referee, and the standard of officiating in general - even Steve Cooper said that he couldn't talk about it as he didn't want to get into trouble (however, our Tom has no such qualms). Nottingham Forest 0-4 Fulham: The 1865 Match Report

Nottingham Forest 0-4 Fulham: The 1865 Match Report

1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Back down to earth with a bump, the Reds paid the price for naivety and silly mistakes, and were punished by a rampant Fulham team, with Aleksandr Mitrovic showing his class with two goals, and Neeskens Kebano scoring an excellent goal on the break.  Forest will need to learn from this match, dust themselves down and get back on the horse. Rich Ferraro is joined by Baz to discuss midfield pivots, turning points, and the referee, who notably drew the ire of Reds gaffer Steve Cooper.
